Maple House - Care Home Learning Disabilities
The service had processes in place to ensure people’s end of life care was in line with their wishes or if they were unable to make the decision it was made in their best interest. The Willows is relaxed and friendly, but the carers have things very much in hand. Staff always greet you with a smile and are genuinely pleasant and friendly with the residents. Management is always accessible and always take time to help relatives and visitors through a process which can be very difficult. I am extremely impressed by the care offered to my mother. All the staff know me by name and show so much care for the residents.
During this inspection, we found that the provider had taken action to address these issues. Standards of cleanliness and infection control had improved since our last inspection. Care plans were in place and on the whole identified people’s care and support needs. The focus of the inspection was to follow up on previous concerns we had raised in June 2014 about respecting people that used the service and care and support provided to people. The registered provider had systems and processes in place to protect people from harm.
Services
My great-grandmother was a resident at Rheola many years ago, and when my mother needed to go into care, we knew exactly where. Mum is very happy there and enjoys the trips out and entertainment that comes to the home. Staff are wonderful and always have a cheerful word for the residents. Anyone looking for a facility for a loved one is fortunate indeed if a room is available here.
I am so pleased with the range of activities, where everyone can participate. This very caring care home is part of the family. The staff on my father’s unit are caring and skilled, they have infinite patience and make the effort to get to know the residents. I always know that he is safe and well looked after. He is very happy at Buchan House, communication with relatives is very good and the meals are excellent. TheExcelcareandGuildmoreAwards returned this year to bring people together and celebrate the achievements of team members across the family.
Infection prevention and control
I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a residential home, for the staff alone in their caring attitude. Dovecote Manor's staff and management made myself and Mum very welcome. They take good care of Mum, reassuring her about things she is anxious about and they always do their best to sort out any problems quickly. Staff are friendly, caring and support the family when you need it.

People provided consent when they received care from staff. The principles of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards were known and understood by staff. Castlebar Nursing Home is a nursing home that is registered to provide accommodation and personal care for up to 63 people, some of whom are frail and live with dementia. At the time of the inspection there were 57 people living at the service. The director of nursing Claire O'Connor leads the caring team of 12 nurses and 24 healthcare assistants, supported by the activities coordinator, chefs and household staff. We are very happy with the nursing care my mother receives.

Cuan Chaitriona Nursing Home is a purpose-built and spaciously designed single level building on an elevated site on the outskirts of Castlebar, Co. It is comprised of 52 single en-suite rooms and 3 double en-suite rooms. All rooms are fully furnished to a high standard and bathrooms are fitted with a disabled friendly toilet and showering facilities. Rooms are serviced by a one-to-one call bell system and remote-control TV. The rooms are tastefully decorated and residents are encouraged to bring their own personal possessions to make the room their own. The Activities co-ordinator, chefs, catering assistants, three cleaners, and housekeeping staff are always on hand to cater to residents requests.
People were able to reminisce past memories and create new fond memories through the taking part in those activities. Staff welcomed and celebrated diversity at the service, this demonstrated that all people were of importance.
